Hornady ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag eXpanding) bullets are very impressive and versatile projectiles. These match-accurate bullets are engineered to expand reliably at all reasonable hunting distances while retaining a superior ballistic coefficient.

• ELD-X bullets use a very unique technology Hornady created using Doppler Radar while testing, called Heat Shield®. This heat-resistant tip maintains the sharp point as the bullet blazes through the air at speeds above Mach 2, helping to keep the accuracy true even at extreme range. 

• Hornady’s generations of engineering proficiency help them to create a sleek secant ogive bullet shape, with optimized boat tail design. This shape, in addition to the precise Heat Shield® tip provides an exceptionally accurate sharp shooter's projectile. 

• Impact performance below 400 yards is staggering, due to the high velocity and Hornady’s refined jacket design. Expansion is continuous through the impact and penetration process, while the InterLock® ring keeps the jacket fastened solidly to the core.

• Impact performance and expansion above 400 yards are also destructive, as the Heat Shield® tip will be driven back into the core, initiating a reliable expansion and large wound cavities.
